Health and Safety in the Workplace.
This course is set out to impart the knowledge of health & safety in the workplace to candidates working in all sectors of business.
The course aims to make the candidate aware of the importance of working in a safe environment and how this will make their own work easier to carry out. The need to report health & safety problems either to a supervisor or manager and identify hazards in the workplace and how to minimise the risks involved. Understand why working procedures and health and safety rules are so important in the workplace.
The course will cover the following areas:
Health & Safety in the workplace. The law and health & safety Accident prevention and first aid. PPE (personal protective equipment) & risk assessment Fire prevention and evacuation Electricity - (including overhead lines and underground services where appropriate). Equipment at work Noise levels Manual handling Substances hazardous to health Ergonomics - the work area.
There will be a number of handouts given to the trainees during the course and if you require further information on any aspects covered on the training, we will be happy to accommodate you. The course can be covered in a day or split if this is more convenient to your company. After the course is completed, there will be a multiple-choice examination and certification will be awarded to the successful students.

COSHH - Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
This course is provided for people who use substances hazardous to health in their working environment.
The course is set out to inform the candidate about the hazards involved in working with such substances. It explores the risks and controls that are available to minimise these potential hazards and what measures that they and their employers can take to ensure a safer use of these substances.
The areas covered on the course will include:
What is a substance hazardous to health? Assessing the risk to the employees' health when working with these substances. Avoid and control exposure Personal Protective Equipment Precautions needed Maintain control measures
This course is not intended to train the candidate to carry out risk assessments on hazardous substances nor full training on working with hazardous substances.
After the course is completed, there will be a multiple-choice examination and certification will be awarded to the successful students.
